DEAR FELLOW CONSUMERS,

I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE ACTUAL POLICY IS ON HOLDING ITEMS. ONE WEEK I GO IN AND THEY SAY IT'S 7 DAYS, THE NEXT WEEK IT'S 24 HOURS. FINALLY TODAY I WAS TOLD IT'S 48 HOURS. ALL I WANTED WAS TO HOLD A SEASON FOR 7 DAYS WHICH I HAVE DONE ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. I AM IN THIS STORE ONCE A WEEK AND SPEND 100 DOLLARS EVERY WEEK IF NOT MORE. I ALSO PAY OUT AND ADDITIONAL 10 DOLLARS A MONTH FOR THEIR LOYALTY MEMBER CARD. AFTER TODAY'S EXPERIENCE I HAVE DECIDED THAT I HAVE HAD ENOUGH! I AM DONE! F.Y.E WILL NEVER AGAIN SEE ONE MORE DIME OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY. I HAVE ALREADY CALLED AND CANCELED MY LOYALTY CARD MEMBERSHIP. I'LL WRAP THIS UP BY SAYING THAT IT IS A SHAME THAT THEIR EMPLOYEE'S CARE SO LITTLE ABOUT THE COMPANY THEY WORK FOR.

A DISLOYAL CUSTOMER

Holding policies are to the discretion of the store manager. Although many have a 24-hour hold policy, stores may stretch the policy to a few days at most. You will rarely find ANY CD/DVD stores that hold items for you for more than a few days, for both space and sales reasons.

If an item is out of stock when you would like to purchase it, it is very easy to get the item back in. A special order can always be done if available, and once the item arrives it will be held specifically for you because of the deposit you put down, guaranteeing you will pick it up.

Also, a sister store lookup can be done to see if any other stores in your general area have the item in stock. If you are unable or unwilling to travel to the neighboring F.Y.E., stores will even have the item tranferred to your preferred F.Y.E, which normally only takes 1-2 business days!

Lastly, if the DVD or CD is something that your store normally carries on a regular basis, once the item is sold, the store will most likely get it back in quickly in their weekly shipments, which typically occur 1-2 times a week.

Also, select stores around the U.S. have a contract with Mix&Burn, where CDs can be burned on demand if an item is out of stock. Cover album art, CD case, and tracklisting printout is included, and it only takes about 5 minutes to burn after you check out! Check out fye.com to see if your store participates!

Getting a DVD or CD back in is hassle-free and quick, and your local store manager, assistant managers, and sales associates will all be willing to assist you and explore these options with you.

If you feel the item you are requesting to be put on hold is especially rare and you feel it will be a significant problem locating the item in the future if it sells by the time you come in next, discuss this with your local F.Y.E. associates and they will be happy to find another option for you, perhaps making an exception to their hold policy. All of this should be discussed with your local F.Y.E. associates.
