Marriot Airport Hotel Isanbul - Marriot Istanbul Complaint May 2010

Product: hotel service
Company: Marriot Airport Hotel Isanbul
Category: Other
I had made a reservation at Marriot Airport Hotel to arrive early and have a room. When I arrived the room was not ready. The clerk tried to insist on a smoking room; I refused and said I would wait. I waited over 2 hours. The room rate was misquoted to me - for a small room with no view I paid 210 USD but had been quoted about 98USD - was this because of incompetence or because of the Marriot Point System? The room had no tub. It had no toothbrush, no skin cream, no complimentary fruit or even a piece of chocolate on the pillow. I'd rather stay at Motel 8 than the Marriot for this price?! The Internet was not free. The TV was not free. The breakfast was not free. At 210USD? When I checked out early (3AM) to make my flight, the hotel bell staff was asleep, so I lugged my own bags to the taxi.
Marriot - never again! I wrote 2 letters of complain - one to an address that came back to me as invalid and one to Bill Narriot's blog - no response. The hotel sent me a survey and wrote me letter "apologizing" for rating them poorly?!
