Message = I recently purchased the New NUK Genius pacifier for my twins. The handle on this pacifier sits down onto the pacifier almost flush with the pacifier. Therefore it is not easy for a child to grab the pacifier by the handle like those pacifiers that have the handle sitting away from pacifier. Therefore, ,y children (7 month old twins) would pick the pacifiers up by the shield pieces and poke their mouths until the got the nipple piece in. Last week, however, my son put the entire pacifier into his moth and got it stuck. I was alarmed, however, I had never heard of this and figured I would supervise him and see if he did it again. My son loves to figure things out and concentrates on how objects work. Then, Friday it was strange. We were sitting down to dinner and I gave my son his pacifier because he was tired and we were trying to finish eating. Again, he stuck the entire things in this mouth. It slides in easy with nipple facing outward. Thank goodness I was watching him because he got it in far this second time. I decided not to use them again with my son and the strangest things occured, His twin sister did the same exact thing that evening. Therefore I DO NOT think this is a coincidence. They have never done this with their other NUK pacifiers. But the handle sticks out on them. I am concerned about this new pacifier. I know right now walmart in our area is the only place that sells them but as more venders sell them (like babiesrus) more infants might be at risk.

My daughter has done the same thing. Placed the handle side into her mouth and turned it so it got stuck. Very scary..and not easily removed. I've also changed pacifier brands. I did send a note to Nuk but I of course haven't heard anything back from them.
