HD for Life is very unfair to your existing customers. A new customer can sign up and receive HD free for life, while your existing customers whom have been proving revenue for the company for many years are told that in order to receive the HD for Life, they must pay an activation fee of $99.00 to activate a product that they have already paid once to have activated and is currently active and functional. Does this make sense to you, to pay for activation on a product that you have first of all already paid for and is working? The other option is to provide Dish with their credit card for automatic deductions? Neither option is acceptable to me whatever happened to good customer service?

Hello, this is Mike LeMar with DISH Network customer service. The HD for Life promotion plan is available and has the same requirements for both new and existing customers. For all customers, including new, there are two options. The first involves a $99 activation fee in order to avoid a 24-month commitment and the credit/debit card autopay and paperless billing requirements. The second option is to accept a 24-month commitment and have autopay and paperless billing activated to avoid the activation fee. Regardless of which option a customer may take, he/she will never have to pay for HD for their main package of programming for the life of their account. Other companies may offer a promotion similar to this, but for only the first 12 months.

Hope that helps!
