We hired Music Man DJ Services to play at our wedding for $800 for 4 hours! We met with our DJ prior to the wedding and gave him a theme for our wedding, which was motown. We also gave him a list of DO NOT PLAY songs and stressed to him that we DID NOT want these songs at our reception. Not only did he play ALL OF THE DO NOT PLAY SONGS and no Motown, he pulled very uncomfortable group activities on our guests that we DID NOT discuss! Music Man DJ services ruined our reception and we STRONGLY suggest engaged couples searching for a DJ to STAY AWAY from MUSIC MAN! The reception would of been better and our guests would of had a lot more fun if we would of just plugged in our Ipod! When your guests complain about your DJ, you know it's bad.

Music Man just played at a wedding I went to last weekend. He was great. The songs were great. The DJ was professionally dressed and seemed in a great mood the entire evening. He was smiling at everyong and moved from fast songs to slow songs and everything in between. I'm surprised you had such a bad experience. I don't want to sound mean...but this review sounds a bit like a Bridezilla to me. How could playing music all night = ruined your reception.

I was completely surprised to find out about this posting. I feel that I conduct myself in a very professional manner and care very deeply how each wedding that I do turns out well. I have DJ'd over 20 weddings this year with rave remarks and tipped by all of them. When the groom paid me that evening we even had a conversation about a car repair that I was looking into. The groom works for a repair business and I was asking his advice. He never acted like I totally ruined your wedding.

I have all of the paperwork that we went over during our consultation. I played 90% of the requested music. The only song that I played on your "Do Not Play List" was when the grooms cousin wanted to hear it and I pointed her to the Bride and Groom. The Bride gave me the okay to play this song. This was the Cupid Shuffle, which when played your crowd responded very well. We also discussed that if someone would ask for any songs on the "Do Not Play List" that i would just tell them...if I have that song, I will play it. This was to take the pressure off of you. So if your guests said they had a bad time, it may be because I was not playing the songs they wanted to hear and dance to. You instructed me to play Motown as well as song from the 50's through the 80's, but did not want to hear any songs from the 90's and today. I did play to this agreement. You also mentioned two must play group which were The Wings and Zapp. I purchased both of their greatest hits and played at least two songs from each. As far as the group activities are concerned, I did not have any group activities. Your reception was a very small one with approx 80 people attending. I did mention at the consultation that smaller crowds were harder to motivate especially with music restrictions.

I feel that I performed as I always do, with my heart on my sleeve to insure yours and every wedding is a success.
