Dell XPS 1330 nothing but repairs

It is hard to put one date of a consumer experience with Dell - months, now turning into a year, is more like it. I have had numerous Dells, including at work - all of them a delight to work on, with no problems. Until I purchased an XPS 1330 last year. All the same complaints as another member who complained about his 1530. Bad hard drive, bad motherboard, bad touchpad, bad heatsink, shutting down every 2 minutes, no sound, defective power supply that won't charge my battery, etc. etc. etc. Dell has a system where they'll send someone out to your home - but you have only 3 days after they call you to take a day off from work to be there for the technician (they don't make appointments in advance). If you can't get the time off from work on such short notice, they send the parts back and you have to start all over. After being sent two replacement laptops that other customers had returned (one the screen wouldn't even light so I couldn't even try to figure out anything else); the other had numerous problems and was much heavier than my lightweight 1330 (with a chunky clunky power supply to boot). I threatened to go to small claims, sending them a sample complaint with over six months worth of one problem after another, and was offered at first only what Staples had paid as a refund, not what I had paid. We finally agreed on a new desktop, but suddenly all communications have ceased. Our Supreme Judicial Court ruled that Dell is subject to our consumer protection law, that they can't get out of it by their mediation clause or anything else, and they can be sued in our state and subject to our consumer protection laws. I am entitled to my money back OR a NEW computer (not one of those barely working refurbished ones like they kept sending me).


Tomorrow I am off to small claims court with my several dozens of pages of emails showing the DELL HELL of buying an XPS 1330, and asking for my money back and COSTS of taking time off from work to deal with DELL's unsatisfactory responses all this time.
