t-mobile refuses to refund balance

Facts are more helpful than angry or derogatory comments. i am trying to cancel my to-go-phone account with T-mobile, i have $100 balance in my account. they refused to refund the balance to me.all they can do is to open another account for me and transfer the balance to the new account. to cancel an account means i do not want to do business with t-mobile anymore, now they force me to open another account with them, this defeat my purpose! they says the balance is in $100 worth air time. but why they deactivate my phone before i use it up. i go to the bank, i close an account, i get my balance back. the banks can not keep our balance, how can t-mobile keep my balance without paying me interest.
