UPS package "tracking" scam
|
Tracking number 1Z726W6X0345314813 United Parcel Service US http://www.ups.com/tracking/tracking.html According to the UPS tracking web site, the item we ordered departed from Baldwin Park, CA on Sep. 18, reached Secaucus, NJ on Sep. 23 and left the UPS Bronx terminal at 5:13 AM on Sep.24 for delivery to our home in the Bronx. The web site stated that the package was "on time for delivery on Sep. 24." When it did not arrive, we called UPS customer service. Their records showed the same details as the web site. UPS called again, the next day (Sep. 25) and admitted that the package had not gone out on the truck on Sep. 24 as claimed. When we asked about the electronic scanning that we thought was performed on each package, the agent explained that the final phases in the package's movements were ASSUMED and not actually tracked! If this is their common practice, then their reported tracking results are a SCAM. This deceptive practice should be subject to a federal investigation.
