I was researching obituaries and came across advertising for Newspaperarchives.com. I was interested so I clicked on the link that said 9.99 for a month. I didn't notice the tiny print that said billed annually. I was billed for a whole year for 119.00. I checked on a few obituaries, births, and marriage records. The database did not return any of them. The database is apparently very limited. I wasn't happy about any of this so I called asking for a refund and was refused. I sent email asking for a refund and was also refused.

I am not able to use the service since it appears the state I need info on doesn't return anything.

This company is dispicable in their practices and certainly doesn't run a good business ethically.

I really would like to get my money back. I'm not a wealthy woman and I don't like paying for something I can't use.

Same thing happened to me in November 2010 and I did call the company. They state that there ARE NO REFUNDS regardless of mistakes and that this policy is clearly stated on their web site. I have also filed a complaint on this web site. Consumers beware of doing business with either NewspaperArchives.com or HeritageMicrofilm.com (Same company, just different methods of ripping you off.) I had not seen this ladies complaint prior to attempting to sign up for the 7 day FREE trial.

As with all products or services, purchasing products at a lower price per item requires one to pay for the entire package at once rather than paying a higher price for a smaller quantity increment.

Newspaperarchive.com subscription pricing is no different than what you might find at a retail store for the purchase of any product where you have a choice of a small, medium or large portion. The price tiers we offer to our customers are of great value and the pricing is explained on the initial page as well as throughout the ordering process. At Newspaperarchive.com we are very proud of the service we provide to our customers and they find our site of great value.

However, we do recognize that some customers overlook the pricing as they move through the order process. For this reason, please feel free to contact me and I will look at your account.
