Disgusted and fed up with Sears service
|
Sears Kenmore Dryer US We bought ALL of our replacement appliances at Sears for our newly rebuilt home after a tornado in 2000 destroyed our previous home. 8 short years later we have begun to have problems with our washer only to buy an extended warranty to have a tech come out and fix it, then the same with our dryer. Having done that we thought we'd get another few years out of both of them. Well, 2 months after having the thermalcoupler replaced in our dryer, the dryer stopped drying our clothes completely dry. So I called the service # to schedule someone to come out and check it out. The tech said he "couldn't find anything wrong with it right then" but ordered a new drum and thermostat anyway and set a return appointment for a week later. During the weekend in between, the dryer stopped heating up to dry the clothes altogether. When the tech arrived the next week he discovered that the new drum arrived within that week but the other 2 parts he had been expecting did not. (We did not know there were to be 2 more parts-we thought it was all in the big box that arrived mysteriously on our doorstep!)So he calls to find out where those 2 parts were and discovered they were left on the dock in Chicago. We reset our appointment for 2 days later and as of this moment the parts STILL have not arrived for his visit tomorrow. I called the service # and was told, after being on pergahold to speak to a representative, that he would check to see what was going on-then we got disconnected. So I called back and was on pergahold again to talk to yet another service rep who finally found out that the parts MAY OR MAY NOT get here by tomorrow. I have decided that the tech is going to take the drum with him and I am going to get reimbursed for my remaining 10 months of my service plan and I am going to go buy a dryer and the rest of my appliances when it is time, elsewhere. I will never buy anything at Sears again. After they merged with Kmart, their quality and service has really dropped and I am really disappointed with them.
