For those of you who are looking into satellite TV, be careful with Direct TV offers and honesty.

1. Direct TV will offer you a sale price. For example, they offered me 250 channels for $45 per month.

Your 1st bill will be for $81 and not the promised $45

2. If you call, they will tell you that is a rebate that you have to submit.

You can submit the rebate online or via mail but most of the time they will tell you that they never received the rebate.

For example, I submitted my rebate online as adviced by Direct TV and called them to see if they received it.

Then, Direct TV will say that you have to wait because they have delay on the rebate applications.

3. The 2nd bill arrived for $71. I called again and they told me that they never heard from my rebate. The lady in the phone said that she will do it for me over the phone because I was on the limit from my deadline.

YES, if you do not submit your rebate in 90 days you are out!

The lady asked me for some information and said that everything was done.

4. Next bill $85. I called again and after talking to 6 different people and calling 2 different number back and forth; they said that they never heard from my rebate.

The best deal they can give me is to downgrade me to 150 channels for the regular price of $53 per month.

5. I asked to end our contract and they said that you can not unless you pay the very high fee. So, I'm stuck with them against my will for 2 years.

6. To make it better, in the initial offer they will give you free channels for 3 months or 1 year. Not surprisingly this part of the offer does not appear in the contract. Well, this is because they will chage the offer and you can not get out of it because you signed the contract.

My advice, consider a more honest and customer friendly company when looking at satellite TV, especially with this economy.
