Dialing 911
|
iphone 3G Att wireless US On Aug 13th I dialed 911 with my Iphone 3G to report an emergency and my called didn't go through and I was given a automated operator message to try my call again later. After dialing 3 other times with in 30 sec I was given the same message every time. I then dialed 611 for At&t customer service and my call connected with no issue. The call rep and no idea why I was unable to connect and gave me a transfer to person after person and I was even hung up on after the sixth person. Then I was told I would receive a call back in a couple days with the issue resolved. when att did call me back 4 days later the rep wanted me to call 911 and "test" the network. He said 911 gets these calls all the time with people testing the network and that it wasn't a big deal. So i called 911 and it connected with the operator, I told him i was testing the network as the call rep had me do. The 911 operator scolded me and asked that I not make those calls ever again unless it was an emergence. When the call rep from att called back I told him what happened and all he said was "that's weird, I'm sorry about" but didn't sound apologetic one bit. After which he said problem solved is there anything else I can help you with? I asked what happened the first time I called 911 and he said it was because the network was busy and it was att and 911s fault. I never received a follow up call from Att from that point on. So I now will take matters higher. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Wednesday, 02-Sep-09 14:46:40 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
