ROGERS AT&T CANCELLATION FEE CA I moved to the United States in MArch 2007 and had my cell phone disconnected in January 2007.I was told that there would be a cancellation fee of $200.00 plus other charges because I was still in a contract.I asked that they waive the fee as there was no AT&T in my area at that time, and that Videotron waived this fee because I was moving out of the country. At first they said that it was not possible and then a few calls later I was told that they had waived it. Her we are in September 2009 moving back to Canada and after making an application for a mortgage, finding out that they have put this cancellation fee in collection agency's hands and that I now owe $287.86.They jave put it on my credit report as BAD DEBT and I am having trouble to get this cleaned up.I gave them my new address and they sent the bill to my old address in Canada and all the mail was returned DAH! I have now written the office of the president and had a reply that they were going to investigate this and get back to me.The problem is that I believe that Rogers is taking advantage of people with their billing and although their are many complaints, nothing is done. I am hoping that the office of the president will comply and clear my credit report, also I tried to call the collection agency that they gave me the nomber for and left several messages and they never called back. Any suggestions on how we can get this thievery stopped. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Saturday, 12-Sep-09 08:23:01 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
