I'm done with Sears!
|
Sears US I was informed by Sears about a "Friends and Family" sale on Sunday, Oct. 4th for those of us with a Sears credit card. So, after working my 12 hour shift I phoned my local Sears to order an expensive range for my kitchen. As I am beginning a complete kitchen re-do, Sears stood to gain a signficant profit from me. After placing my order, the sales associate said my credit card was denied. I quickly called the credit department and received absolutely no assistance in reinstalling my account. They told me that though they had recently sent me my renewal card, they decided to close my account without warning for "inactivity." Then the manager got on the phone to insinuate that from a banking perspective I was "hogging" the available credit from those who would use it. I informed him I opened my account in 1988 and he said I should have recalled the small print saying they could close my account without notice for "inactivity." I don't use the card for t-shirts, etc. and now I'm ready to use it for major appliances, they have cut me off. I really find it shocking they can mail me notices of sales, mail me renewal cards, etc. but cannot spend a stamp to mail me a notice my account is going to close if not used soon. This is outrageous and the customer service by the credit department was horrible. I was completely mortified that he not only failed to assist me in finding a way to complete my transaction but also raised his voice to me and was rude. Shame on Sears! I have bought all Kenmore my entire life, all Craftsman for tools, shop at Lands' End for most clothes....I am sorry to think of the thousands of dollars I've spent at Sears!
