AAA roadside assistance suks

AAA
US

Coming home today I ran out of gas. First time. No, really. I called AAA at 5:30. I was parked at the Upper Salford Fire Company in Montgomery County PA. On route 563, major intersection Route 63. How many of these locations are there?! Gave them this info and told them that the last time I called they sent someone from Quakertown, 40 miles away. And it took 2 hours, which was fine because I was at home waiting to go to work.

So I asked if maybe they could find somebody closer to my home town of Harleysville PA. 45 minutes later I called back an asked for a status update. Scott the dispatcher told me they would be there in about 20 minutes, after they delivered gas to the Tylersport fire station. I should have put two-and-two together., but right now I have pneumonia and an rhinovirus and am not in the best of health or moods. About 45 minutes later I called AAA back again. 7:00PM or so. Finally some IDIOT called me and told me that he had â??just gotten the callâ?? and was looking for me at the Tylersport fire station. I told him where I was and asked if he knew where that was and he said yes he did. I knew it would be at least another 20 minutes because this dipshot obviously does not know his service area. I told him I was waiting. Never heard from him again.

45 minutes later nobody calls, nobody shows up. I call AAA. About 30 minutes later some bch from the Forge Gate Towing Company calls and says she â??just got the callâ?? and where am I located? OK, I let loose. Probably she really had just gotten the call from the idiots at AAA dispatch. Well, she hung up on me-I probably would have done the same. I figured that, for the cost of my familyâ??s $200.00 a year membership and the promise of a 1 hour emergency call turnaround time I would be walking home and maybe getting a friend to help me pick up my car the next day.

So I started walking home. I knew it couldnâ??t be more than 5 miles. Praise the Lord, good people and NOT AAA I asked a family pulling into their driveway how far it was to the town where I live. The husband without question found a gas can, took me to a gas station and gassed me up and homeward bound I went. 8:45PM.

On the way back to my car someone from AAA finally called to tell me that they could not figure out where I was. I gave them a bit of what for-not nearly enough-and I am sure he was very happy to forget all about me, their, uh, customer?

Until I called Rich, the Quakertown Senior dispatcher, upon finally, finally, getting home at 8:45PM. He â??documented my complaintâ?? â??call number 10744- and told me I would have to talk to John Perry in Allentown PA on Monday because he was the only person that could â??take actionâ??.

Waitâ??ll Monday. Happy Halloween everyone. PS-this site asks me to type the word "monkey" to post. How appropriate.
