Scamed me out of my money

pay as you go credit card Epic Master Card unknown Vancouver BC, On unknown CA www.epiccard.ca I got this loadable credit card from a shop I deal with. I loaded ten dollars on it. I called on Thursday to activate it and the recording told me the card was invalad. After trying 3 or 4 times it transfered me to an agent who found the problem and fixed it. She assured me that my card was good and my ten dollars was there. I went to use it at the grocery store and it came back declined. I called the company and talked to a supervisor named Reese who said that they chrged me 90 cents per minute to talk to the girl earlier and I only had 5 dollars now. I told her it was because of the problem with their voice machine that I had to talk to the girl. She then said she was going to reverse the charges. I then asked her if that meant I could go into the store now and my 10 dollars would be there and she said yes. So I went to the store and again my card was declined. When I checked the balance on line it was at around 4 dollars. Since then I have not so much as talked to anyone there but the amount when I check every so often keeps going down. I just tried to use it for the first time since then to pay 2 dollars for some thing on line and it was declined. My money has vanished from this account. I called the place where I got it to make sure they knew what was going on because although I beleive they are unaware and are just hired to sell this credit card I beleive this credit card is fradulant. Update: The card with my name on it arrived today. It had the name of the shop I got it from on it (Easyhome). I called the head office for Easyhome and asked if I could get some thing explaining the charges this credit card charges and they told me I would have to go to the store I got it from and ask them. So I called the Easyhome on Wentworth Street in Oshawa where I got the card and I asked there if I could get a list of the charges this company puts on the cards. They right out refused to give me the list of charges. The card keeps going down without me using it and I have no idea what these charges are for and they refuse to let me know. I tried callilng the credit card company themselfs and when I typed in my card number it disconnected. Contacting them may be a good idea. Also contacting the Superintendant of Financial Services, a federal government agency that regulates financial services in Canada. Further caontact the Canadian Bankers Asscociation for its Ombudsman services. I think once you contact the Superintendant of Financial Services they will quickly negotiate with you! From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Friday, 14-Jan-11 18:34:28 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisI went to easyhome in woodstock new brunswick and loaded a $160 on this same card epiccard mastercard and when i went to use it at the store i tried to get a purchase of a $159 on it and it came back declined.I came back home and went on their website and it told me my balance was zero dollars cause i had a decline fee and it said the store got the money when i actually seen the decline message.I called easyhome to see what was going on and they said that i used the money,i had the store copy me the records with the proof that i never received the money so they could fax it to their head office and that was weeks ago and of coarse i can not get an answer to where the money went to and why they cant get it back.I can not believe that this is going on all i want is my money back and i can't seem to get that or even an answer this company really needs looking into as far as i am concerned this card is a scam. How mastercard could let it's name be used like this is beyond me.And as far as this 90 cents a minute thing is unbelieveable that they would charge you this amount when all people are doing is trying to get their money back. I am very disappoint in easyhome and mastercard.This card is a rip off. It's also on the website. Also on a card like this, putting only 10 dollars on it is going to get most of the money eaten up in service charges. I tend to only use it for transactions that I don't want to risk identity theft of my credit card numbers on. I have cut the card up into little itty bitty peices and am going to send it back to them with a nasty note. As if it isn't bad enough that they have these rediculous charges but they are hidden. At no time at Easyhome did they tell me about them and they refused me when I asked for a list of the charges. The whole $10.00 is gone now and I didn't use any of it. In Easyhome's defence they have told me that they will put a $10.00 credit on my furniture account but if they are not going to give you warning abut these charges they should not be promoting the card in my opinion. My suggestion to you and anyone else who has a master card from Easyhome is to cut it up and send it back with a letter stating you will not put up with this crap. I hear from friends that there is a good pre paid master card you can get from Money Mart, I think I will check them out.
