Dental/Medical Consent Forms

The dentist/physician won't see us because we won't sign all their generic all inclusive consent forms which are outrageously overreaching nor make cash down payments before treatment is commenced no less completed. They want us to agree to let them use our photographs in their advertising without compensation, give blanket consent to their course of treatment, and pay whatever they choose to charge regardless of the outcome plus collection fees without even first telling us their charges and normal collection expenses. Instead they should disclose all fees as part of legally required informed consent, agree not to charge if their procedures fail, and pay their patients' attorney fees should they need to sue them for malpractice in order to be made whole again. Now, the common law covers most of these issues and generally, magistrates allow medical business office managers to sue and extract all payments and fees from dissatisfied patients who never even get to cross examine the physicians themselves. Being required to sign multiple forms consenting to such injustice ahead of time is an insulting affront to the legal community and should be addressed in health care reform.
