Camera Scam

I ordered a camera from Closeout Island online. They said they just sold the last one of that model and initially tried to sell/switch me to another camera. I declined the offer of a lesser camera and they said it would take 3 weeks for my SLR camera. I have been waiting almost two months and they said it's probably going to be another month because they're are still out of them and waiting for a shipment. Every store I walk into has the camera in stock, granted the price is much cheaper on their site BUT... Since I have ordered the camera from them they have now made it a featured item and lowered the price by $150... Why do this if you are out of them..? They said Canon regulated their prices and Canon changes the prices. I called Canon directly and they said it is a lie. Canon Said they are not an authorized dealer and there is no way it is a US product at that price. The camera retails from $1099-$1299 and on closeoutisland.com website is now $319. Waiting for this camera has cost me countless headaches with them and 2 months without a camera. I dont recommend doing business with closeoutisland.com or any of their other websites!

I to ordered a camera from them.I placed an order for a nikon d5000 kit.I was told it was in stock.I to was sent an e-mail telling to contact them asap to process the order over the phone.When I contacted them I was told the camera needed a different memory card and a longer lasting battery to make the camera work properly.This added another $150 to the price of the kit.So I said ok .5 min. after that they dropped the price of the kit on their web site.Then I recieved another e-mail from them that said my order was on back order and would not be in for 3 weeks.I to canceled my order.I found a better place to order what I wanted.If anyone is reading this and looking for good service,fast shipping,good prices,and great products go to Cameta Camera .com they will answer any questions you have and will work with you any way they can to make your dealings with them pleasureable.

I tried to order a nikon d5000 from them.I was told the kit I wanted was in stock.They told me that I needed another battery and a differnt memory card that was not included.I ordered them also because the price was dirt cheep.total kit was $350.00 plus extra bat.and mem.card plus shipping the total was $480.00.Processed the order over phone and then was told it was on back order.Then they dropped the price of the kit 3 times and then raised the price above the price it started out to be.I canceled my order and found a better dealer.FOR A GOOD DEAL GO TO CAMETA CAMERA.COM.Friendly service,good prices,fast shipping, and A1 products.My wife and I love our new nikon d5000.

Similar situation! Placed an order for a canon camera. They listed t at $129, cheaper than the $179-199 it sells everywhere else. Then I get a call and email saying that for security purposes they need me to contact them for confirmation of the order. When I call then back, they tell me that the camera comes with out a battery and the the battery is an extra $69. After talking to them for a few minuted I realized that this is totally a scam! So I cancelled my order... now I'm off to canceling my credit card too, just in case.
