hp recall

bought laptop hp pavilion dv2310us 2 and a half years ago for 1000. it was recalled, no one contacted us about this recall,now the computer is junk and they want 400. to fix it.are you kidding me? i can buy a new(non hp of course) one for that much.hp does not stand behind its products,rip offs!
