Kitchen Aid Side by Side Refrigerator Ice Maker

My six year old $2200 refrigerator's ice maker quit working but I still have water coming through the door. I have had two repair companies look at it and one even replaced the electronic sending switch but to no avail. It appears that I am experiencing the same manufacturer's design flaw that a lot of other people have experienced. I would sure appreciate some help in getting this issue resolved.
