Verizon We have lived where we are now for 34 years. We have had Verizon predecessors and now Verizon itself. We switched to Suddenlink and switched back to Verizon due to poor service from Suddenlink. Several months ago, we were gone for a weekend. Some people had called but the Verizon service did not pick up the messages left. This could have caused trouble if a family member had been hurt, got sick, etc. I complained to no true avail because it has happened again since a time or 2. I then got a an answering machine. I set it at 4 rings and Verizon answering at 6 rings. We were supposed to visit our daughter and her family this weekend but were not able to due to my wife being ill. Our 6 year old granddaughter is especially attached to my wife. She called at 4:03 P. We did not get the call from her. It did not ring here. My wife picked up the phone to make a call and your beep came on indicating we had a message. It was from the 6 year old and she sounded a little sad that we could not come down and she was looking forward to us coming back in about 2 weeks. This really upset my wife and she cried for quite a while. I get upset when my wife cries over such incidents. Your lack of service is very disconcerting. Unfortunately you are the best service in the area due to the years of experience. Has this once great company gone to the dogs like so many other companies in the country? Are you cutting corners at the expense of your customers like so many other companies in America are doing? Are your top executives getting rich on bonuses from cutting these corners? The old saying from the Bible rings so true here--- "The love of money is the root of all evil". I'm not calling you folks evil-just hapless and poorly managed. If you cannot clean up your act, I will see what I can do through our Attorney General. He goes after such abuse--yes, I said abuse. I am retired and have more than enough time to fill out the forms to file a complaint. When you pay good money for a service and it continues to fail, that is abuse of the general public. I am well known here as having the tenacity of a bulldog. If we ever miss another call due to the lack of poor service from you folks, my name will be indelibly burned in your minds and you will never forget it.
