HP NON CUSTOMER SUPPORT
|
HP Pavillion Self employed 4520 Denver Dr Plano, TX 75093 US HP touts is customer service as second to none. With my experience it was a walk through hell. I contacted their customer service department and although I was within my warranty period I spent almost three days faxing proof of purchase. Faxing and re-faxing copies of my receipt. They finally said that they would help but I was not within my warranty period. On the fourth day I was placed with customer support in one of their Pac-rim services centers with a person who obviously was in over his head. My complaint, I was having through put problems and my PC was running very slow. I requested escalation of my issue 4-5 times and the tech continually refused saying he would get into trouble if he would do so. I finally said OK and as we went through the process of him taking control of my PC I he started selecting items to delete to speed up my PC. When I noticed one of the items he deleted was my Norton 360 I ask him to stop and not proceed as I was not comfortable with that selection along with some others that he had selected. He assured me is was OK and before I could break the call he hit the button. One week later I was still trying to piece my PC programs back together though sever calls with HP, each starting that I was not in warranty. I waited 4 days for a case number and obtained it by calling a friend who worked for HP who gave me the number to call. The gentleman I spoke with was sympatric immediately issued a case number and I thought we were good to go. I got nowhere. I finally called Norton as I felt my customer care saga was going nowhere with HP. Norton was glad to help and as I have a WD Passport and with the help of Norton I finally retrieved my data. I am still missing files and lost more than a week on my Pavilion working with HP support. Based on my experience I will never buy another product form HP. In fact I helped a friend two weeks later buy two laptops, one for himself and one for his sister, and we did not even look at the HP. I suggested Toshiba, a bit higher priced for about the same unit but we did not even look at a HP. He as well as his sister are both happy with my suggestion. If after reading this you still choose to buy HP good luck.
