HSBC Credit card, A Nevada Corporation HSBC Credit Card HSBC Card Services PO Box 81622 Salinas, CA. 93912-1622 Salinas, Ca 93912-1622 US Householdbank.com In light of the current economic down turn HSBC is scrambling to rapid changes in their credit card policies for all of their current unsuspecting existing customers. Relative to My account which is and was in good standing with a $3000.00 credit line and a "zero balance" was suddenly reduced to $300.00. HSBC's resoning was to protect themselves from loss liability in the industry.(a crazy asinine excuse for customers in good standing who have never been late) Now they are changing further by adjusting all of their rates to over 19%, and as high as 26% for all customers. WE all know we cannot do anything about the Chameleon like changes credit card companies practice, it's all in the fine print. When a card is issued the policy should remain constant with no changes (A contract is a contract) unless a default occurs, however Credit Card Companies are free to do what they want often catching consumers off guard with no recourse. When they have shortfalls "They cover their Asses" by hiking fees and in Many instants will result in a doubling or tripling of the minimum payment sending responsible consumers scrambling and struggling to make their payments. Congress recently passed a resolution preventing credit card companies from adjusting Interest rates unless the consumer is 60 days past due. It's a good change but too little too late. HSBC and others have scrambled to change their policies to circumvent this new law and increase revenues. The changes that HSBC has implemented may cause some consumers into forced bankruptcy. I advise any potential customers of HSBC to say NO to any HSBC Credit card, AND to and any and all existing customers of HSBC to immediately cease to do business with HSBC Bank, A Nevada Corporation. It is obvious to me that HSBC is struggling to raise revenue to compete in the industry by victimizing their existing customer base and any new customers who go in blindly, a very very bad business practice. HSBC will not learn a lesson unless they "Lose their customer base" to give a clear signal that we consumers do not have to tolerate such victimization at the hands of HSBC, A Nevada Corporation. If you should have an active balance with an HSBC credit card, either pay it off, transfer the balance to another card, go to a credit counsler, OR if you are under extreme financial hardship simply default, let them try to collect what you don't have, If they don't collect within FOUR years the debt is clear... Plus theres always Bankruptcy. However, lobbying by the credit card industry has caused changes to the Bankruptcy code to force you into Chapter 13(limited) instead of Chapter 7(complete) HSBC is the type of Credit Card consumers do not need, especially in todays volitile credit market, these types of credit card companies are guilty of "Financial Rape of the consumer.
