Associated Bank are bad people.

I had a bad check come through leaving my account with a negative balance and a huge mess. I have another joint account with my wife that we do all of the household finances through.

I'm living on disability and not very well I might add. But that's beside the point. Today I deposited my disability to the household account. I checked my account tonight. They closed the account with the negative balance and withdrew nearly all of my deposit from the household account to cover the negative balance. I'm so screwed.

Is this even legal? Can they just dip into your other accounts because it's there?
