Over the past month I have been getting online quotes in a quest to find a lower insurance rate and on Tuesday October 13, 2009 I narrowed it down to just 3 providers. GEICO being one of them. When I spoke to the agent he complimented me on how well I filled in all the information on the online quote, including the inclusion of the deer vs. car total loss claim I had with progressive last year. He explicitly and after repeated questioning told me that it would not count against me as far as the rate I was being quoted. He then told me I would have to give him my credit card number BEFORE he ran the reports because they would cost money. I grudgingly agreed because he would not give me a hard quote and he assured me that the total loss would not affect the quoted rate.


This morning I was given a phone call and told that the premium quoted was a result of some misinformation and that the new rate was almost double the amount of what I was quoted. I told the CSR that I wanted to talk to a manager and she told me they would get back to me promptly, that was over 2 hours ago. I believe I was duped into dropping my prior insurance company with a false quote. No sooner was I off the phone yesterday when the deposit came out of my checking account...I will proceed to look for another HONEST insurance company today and I want all of my deposit reimbursed to me.....
