CROWNE PLAZA SAN ANTONIO MISTREATS CONVENTION FOLK

Crowne Plaza Hotel- Riverwalk, San Antonio 111 Pecan ST East San Antonio, Te 78205 US www.crowneplaza.com/sariverwalk On September 12th 14th 2009 I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas (111 Pecan St. East). During my stay, my iPod and Digital Camera came up missing from my hotel room. I was traveling with a group of colleagues to an industry show; however I was the only person staying in my room. The only other party with a key to access my room was the hotel and its staff. Because they do not provide personal safes in each room for the protection of guests valuables and due to the fact that I was not notified of any safe on the premises to place my valuables, I did the best I could do to protect my belongings by placing them inside the lining of my small suite case which was then placed inside my large suite case. The morning of my departure, I began packing and noticed the iPod and digital camera were missing from where I had stored them. After contacting Hotel Security and Hotel Management, I finally had to call the San Antonio Police Department, as the Hotel Manager was to busy to see me upon my initial request to speak to him on this matter. We even called the platinum desk of INTERCONTINETAL HOTELS, which didnt help either, but seemed to get the attention of the Hotel Manager. I was assured while I was there, that they were anxious to resolve this matter. They informed me they had run a lock review and were going to call in the employee whom had access to the room for an interview to discuss this claim. They gave me the date and time of this interview the following day. I ended up having to call them for an assessment of the interview the following day as no one had contacted me like promised, only to find out that the employee never showed up for the interview. At which point they told me she was difficult to get a hold of but had agreed to come back in the following day for a reschedule of the interview. Once again, I had to contact the Hotel for information after the second scheduled interview for an update, at which time they informed me the employee had not showed up for this interview either. In addition after my continued calls to the hotel for information, they told me she never ended up showing back up for work. When I asked about paying for the items, they said they had to wait for the police investigation, AS I CALLED THE POLICE INTO THE MATTER Now a month later I am being told by their insurance company that they will not pay on this claim as there is insufficient evidence pointing to their accountability. In addition I was told that because there was no witness at the time of the alleged theft, they consider that to be insufficient evidence. Now how would there be any witnesses when I am not in the room when they clean it? I guess if they can not get a thief to admit there was a theft then in their minds no theft occurred? BUT the lock print out showed that the employee was in the room, which was never even cleaned. I am outraged at the lack of customer service and accountability this Hotel has shown on this matter. I am a frequent traveler and have never in my life had any belongings taken from one of my hotel rooms, nor would I think that one should have to worry about this staying at an establishment such as the Crowne Plaza. They and Intercontinental Hotels claim they are a hotel that caters to business people and takes care of all our needs. Yet when one of their own people turn out to be a rotten apple, because they blatantly avoided questioning by failing to show up for two separately scheduled interviews, along with never showing up to her next scheduled work shift and did not come back to confess to the crime, it must not of happened. I will be contacting the show department of Armstrong McCall, Beauty Systems Group and Sallys Beauty Supply to advise them of the lack of customer service I was given and suggest that they no longer use any of the Crowne Plaza or Intercontinental hotels as a preferred vendor for any of the conventions or trade shows our parent company books, as I am sure there are plenty of other choices in hotels for our needs that cater to and assist their guest when situations of theft occur on their property. IF YOU HAVE TO GO TO SAN ANTONIO STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE. From: Message Author (click here to email author) Date: Monday, 12-Oct-09 21:36:20 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
