Lowes Appliance Warranty

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator along with an extended 4 year warranty only 9 months ago. A plastic piece broke off a drawer so now it no longer works. I called for warranty service and was told this was "cosmetic" and not covered. That is ridiculous. How can that be cosmetic?? I feel like I have been ripped off big time.
