Never buy a Dell XPS desktop computer!!!

I have two...bought them since I have a photography business and they were supposed to be very good graphics computers. The first one was purchased March of 2007...6 months before the other one. This first has now had to have 3 motherboards replaced...the latest one crashed yesterday and tech service informs me that the part is on back order and will not be available to be replaced until 11/30 or the latest 12/2. This is the computer that runs my accounting system and I will now not be able to fulfill any of my client orders for a week or longer. Essentually, shutting my business down for a week!!!!

The other computer (only 2 1/2 yrs old) has had to have a motherboard replaced, a central fan replaced and 3 weeks ago the hard drive crashed...trapping photos, that had yet to be backed up to our external hard drives, on a dead computer for 10 days before the computer repair place was able to retrieve the files of the bad drive.

I'm also questioning this "award winning support" that Dell claims. In the past three weeks, I have wasted a total of 6 buisness hours on the phone while tech support has me monkeying around inside the computer to "determine the problem". The crashed motherboard really upset me....since it has happened 2 previous times to this same computer (in 3 yrs of owning it) I knew exactly what the problem was and stated as such.....yet tech support still made me re-seed memory, video cards, etc. After an hour off this bulls**t, tech said they would investigate the problem....I told him to start the investigation with the motherboard.....guess what IT WAS THE MOTHERBOARD!!!!

Proceed with extreme caution if you are considering purchasing these computers....save yourself the time, money (have over $6000 invested in these pieces of junk) and hassle and get a reliable computer...not these pieces of junk!
