Complaint about Broadview Security (Brinks)

Complaint about Broadview Security (Brinks) This is in regards to Broadview Security Company.
My Father passed away last year and shortly after my mom was hospitalized. Leaving their house empty. It was broken into so because they had all the equipment from a previous owner I called Brinks (now doing business as broadview). I thought I was signing a 1 year contract which is why I paid the total up front and made no payments. I tried to cancel the service this year because my mom is now living in a assisted living facility and the house is going to be sold. I never received a response from Brinks (broadview) until I received a collection service letter. This is not the address where the security system is, it is on Beechfern Ln E which was my parents home (not the address the bill comes to because I am paying her bills). I called the number on the letter and was told it was a 3 year contract and I need to pay it in full. I told them the circumstances of which I would be glad to send a copy of the death certificate and a letter from the assisted living facility where my mom is staying stating that she has been there for a year. They told me they didn't care that a contract was signed it didn't make a difference that no one was in the home or that we were selling it that I have to pay for two more years. I asked to speak with a supervisor which I was transferred to her VM saying that she would return my call within 48 hours. It has been a week and no call. I called back today still they would not even try and work something out with me or discuss it with me. I asked to speak again with a supervisor and was transferred only to get the same VM with the same message of which I left my phone number again. In my last phone call I even offered to pay this year (359.39) even though I have mailed back cancellation and was told that " NO you owe it all there is nothing we will do, just pay the whole amount".
I do not understand if no one is in the house and we will sell it why this is an issue and I will be paying for a service that we will not be using. This is very unfair and if your company is in such a bad shape that you have to treat people that are just trying to be honest after they have lost a parent and had to help the other one then I have no respect for your company and will make sure that every agency and every place I can I will post my story and why I am complaining.
All I ask is that you meet me half way after I have offered to pay the 359.39 now and let me out of the rest of the contract.
Awaiting your reply.

This is a terrible company! Not only are they greedy and insenstive, they try [and are undoubtedly successful] to bully customers who have completed the three year contract and then discontinue the service, into paying $500 cancellation fee. If you were to pay the full amount remaining on the contract term. They will then claim you own them $500 for the equipment.'
