CABLEVISION IS A SCAM
|
New Hyde Park, Ne 11040 US I have had a Cablevision account since I moved to New Hyde Park (late 2007) and the service has never worked properly. The initial wiring installation (from the post to my apartment) was new, as no one had a Cablevision account where I live. The installation was done by a Contractor and was shoddy at best (he could not wait to finish to go on his next call). I ordered Triple play (Cable/Internet/Phone) with an HD box, Boost and IO with spanish channels. Well, let me tell you: the service is lousy at every level (the techs are technically challenged, a.k.a: they are clueless, customer service reps either lie or are "yes" people. They "yes" you to death, apologize profusely for Cablevision's lack of quality of service, and constantly ask you to rate their performance in surveys (to cover their asses) but nothing ever gets fixed. Appointments are not always kept (holding you hostage at your apartment for hours), yet dispatch is not capable of giving you a courtesy call. The so called "boost service" is a scam. You never get the promised speeds, even though tech support recognizes there is packet loss in the line - a tech that came to my apartment told me that after checking the line, he suspected additional nodes had to be opened up and that he would hold an open ticket and advise the engineering department about it. He also told me not to hold my breath, as it is costly to open up additional nodes and that engineering has a 6 month backlog of orders. At best, I get 7mb per second download (well below what I should get with regular internet) instead of 30mb/sec. It is a scam perpetrated probably against thousands of Cablevision subscribers, collecting millions of dollars for something that is not fully or properly delivered. Cablevision has a lot of morons working in their tech and engineering departments. Two years have passed by, complaining frequently for service I am paying for and not getting and nothing gets fixed. In the TV area, I had to give up the Spanish channels, because they looked fuzzy, half the time they came in - service was spotty. My regular (non-HD)channels look as if I had put rabbit ears made from a wire hanger on my expensive HDTV. The Diner at the end of the block where I live, has Verizon and the regular channel lineup looks like high definition in comparison. Cablevision customer service personnel is arrogant, condescending and patronizing; they think they know it all and when you tell them you have an Internet problem, they blame it on your PC (I build PC's as a hobby for 20 years now, I know what the hell I am talking about) they suggest you cancel features, such as Boost or the Spanish channels (that is their stupid way of fixing things). I am so sick of this service, that for the last few days I have requested from several representatives that I only need to hear from and talk to the Directors of Customer Service and Technical support (that's where the buck stops), yet they don't have the balls to give me a phone call because they know they are going to get an earfull (they rather hide behind a horde of inept representatives, lead technicians and supervisors than face the music). Cablevision is the worst Company I have ever encountered, no wonder they are offering "deals" left and right, as they continue to lose market share to Verizon and Direct TV (superior delivery and quality of service, despite being a little higher in price and you have to sign a contract). In the last 2 years, I've probably had close to 20 technicians and a few engineers in my apartment; service is still lousy. Please don't believe whatever Cablevision has to say; I am convinced they are embarked in a systematic pattern of abuse, depraved indifference and utter disrespect towards loyal customers, whatever they tell you, don't believe it ... it's all lies ... too bad they are not regulated by the FCC, otherwise the Dolans, would probably have to pay millions of dollars in fines and restitution and probably lose their licenses to operate, as well. This is the only way to get Cablevision to do their job. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Monday, 08-Mar-10 05:25:09 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
