The Bean Bag Store engages in deceptive business practices - told customer bunk beds could be converted into twins and that they were made in CA when actually they can only be used as bunk beds, and they were made in Viet Nam, according to the shipping box. The beds are very poorly constructed, took 7 hrs to assemble and broke in about a week. There are metal brackets that badly marred the finish the first time they were used and with each subsequent use, additional scratches appeared. The Mgr of this family-run business seems uninterested in resolving this matter and doesn't appear to be the least bit concerned about the safety of the beds. Some child is going to be seriously injured because of the way these beds are made. I am trying to reach as many people as I can to forewarn folks to steer clear of The Bean Bag Store when in the market for children's furniture. Don't be taken in by what may seem to be a reasonable price; "you get what you pay for" - except, from what I've read from some other dissatisfied customers, you don't always even GET what you've paid for from this store. Under no circumstances should you let their customer service representative (a misnomer since they provided no real 'service')persuade you to pay cash for an item; it could be the last you see of the money and you may or may not receive your order. If you use a credit card, you might have some recourse and can at least turn the headaches of dealing with this store over to your credit card company.

The Bean Bag Store has a website which displays a "Best of Minneapolis 2008 -Children's furniture" award. All I can say is: it is either another of their false statements or if it IS true that they ever won an award for having the best in children's furniture, I would highly recommend folks look outside of Minneapolis for their children's furniture needs. If such a big city has nothing better to offer than The Bean Bag Store, this is a golden opportunity for a children's furniture store to relocate to Minneapolis.

I would be glad to hear from anyone who needs further details on the unfortunate mistake made by dealing with The Bean Bag Store. If nothing else good comes from our daughter's experience with this Co., at least we can try to keep others from making such an expensive mistake.
