Interstate Collision & Service Center - HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT
|
Interstate Collision & Service Center 4201 Langley Houston, Te 77093 US http://www.interstatecollision.com/ I was involved in an accident in which my car was totaled and taken to Interstate Collision & Service Center (a storage facility for vehicles). After beign notified by the person at fault's insurance company the car was cnsidered a total loss, I was told to go gather my belongings from my car. I showed up to Interstate Collision & Service Center with the vehicle's title, and 4 different types of ID. An arrogant woman asked me to sit down as I stood waiting for her to finish with what seemed to be 4 members of her family. She obviously had her priorities; play with a baby and her family, before attending customers. After waiting for 15 minutes, I was called to her desk. She found the vehicle and asked for a Texas Driver's License. After I explaiend to her I did not have one, but did have all the records of my vehicle (including the title with my name on it) and various forms of government issued-ID, she insisted she needed a Texas Driving License. I asked what she needed it for, if it was for processing, and she replied that it was just to verify I was the actual owner. She repeated the same thing numerous times and just sat there with a stupid look on her face until I left. I asked to speak to the manager and she replied, with a grin, 'I am the manager'. Then another idiot next to her, her coworker I'm assuming, asked me to step aside so she could help other people. This place is horrible and will do anything to prolong the time vehicles remain there (they charge ridiculous prices for storage). The staff is ignorant, annoying, unprofessional (she was eating Subway), and difficult. I am glad to say the insurance company removed the car from their possession that same day and I was able to collect my personal belongings, but only after dealing with this stupid idiot. I missed school (university student here) and asked my friend to leave work to take me to the distant location. I too have had my own issues with the "owners" and they are extremely rude and unprofessional. I was completely unaware of this company until my car needed to be towed to the dealership for repairs and this was the company that the dealership recommended. My insurance company arranged the transport from my home to the dealership with them but after 24 hours I called the dealership to check on my car only to find out that it did not make it there. They hired an outside tow company and had it towed to their lot without my knowledge. When my insurance company was finally able to locate my car (after thinking it was stolen) I contacted the co-owner and he made inappropriate jokes about the tow driver. Once my car was finally received at the dealership some 28 hours later, I filed a complaint with the BBB and then he denied ever speaking with me or having any knowledge of my car. It was on their lot and they confirmed with the insurance that it was there! They are a nightmare to deal with and incredibly unprofessional. I pity anyone who finds this out the hard way. There are many tow companies and body shops around, trust me, you want to pass on this one! There are rules as we all know that we have to follow but I doubt that she would understand that. Quite obviously all rules for release of a vehicle are accessible online for any person with half a brain to verify that the person requesting the information needed was not at fault for the request. Now common sense would tell you that a valid ID would be required to have access to a vehicle in State storage facility. As to being asked to move on so that another customer could be attended to shows that she was quite obviously being loud and obnoxious. And in parting I feel sorry for the person who had to attend to such a rude and unintelligent person.
