Farberware knives

My duaghter gave me a set of Farberware knives and in the past 2 weeks three of them have had the blade seperate from the handle.

The knives are stainless steel with black plastic insets in the handles. While cutting potatoes with the largest knife the plastic broke and popped out, seperating the blade from the handle. This also occured cutting chicken fried steak with a steak knife and slicing bread with the serated knife.

Serious design flaw, which is annoying since the blades themselves are adequate for the price range.

Farberware has agreed to replace the knives which is a bittersweet offer since I suspect the same will occur with the replacements.
