New paper on Basic Cigarettes?

I smoke Basic Menthol 100 cigarettes and have noticed that they do not stay lit if I put one down in the ashtray for even a short period of time. This just started a month ago or so. My son told me that the manufacturer has changed the paper used and it will go out if you're not smoking it constantly. I have to relight my cigarette at least 3 times while I'm smoking it and when I relight it, I have come close to setting my hair on fire as the end of the cigarette now flames up when you relight it. (I have very short hair). Also, when I tap the ashes, the hotbox falls off and I have to light it again. I have been worried several times that the end has fallen onto my clothes or on the furniture and I'll burn myself or ruin the furniture. I don't know for sure what the manufacturer has done to the paper but I certainly don't like it. I think it is dangerous. I would like to know more about this. Please respond. Thank you.
