Sleep Apnea Testing Laurel Health System 22 Walnut Street Wellsboro, PA 16901 Wellsboro, Pa 16901 US http://www.laurelhs.org/main/aboutlhs.aspx Soldiers and Sailors Hospital / Laurel Health System assured me I could undergo sleep apnea testing in a single night. Further, they said my insurance, which is very good, would cover all charges. On this second point we inquired several times and were told each time there would be no charge to us. When I went in for sleep apnea testing I was surprised to find the OBGYN birthing room was directly next door to the sleeping rooms. I included this point to let you know any potential sleep test could end up being very noisy. When I finished testing in the morning I was told I would have to return for a second night of testing to calibrate the CPAP machine I would need. A month after testing I got a bill from Susquehanna Physicians for $720.00 of which they would not bill to my insurance company and which my insurance company refused to pay. When I called Soldiers and Sailors Hospital / Laurel Health System about the charge they explained this was a standard charge for the physician who read the sleep apnea test results. I ended up having to pay the bill out-of-pocket. I would not recommend Soldiers and Sailors Hospital / Laurel Health System for any reason as they seem willing to misrepresent their standard plan of care and are not forth-coming with payment information.
