Sears Contracts Unfair

Sears Dishwasher Sears US I recently had a horrible experience with Sears. I purchased a service contract #198594780800018 for a dishwasher for $204.99 and was told at the time of purchase that âwe will service your dish washer and make it operate as good as new and if we canât fix it we will replace it with a brand new one for no extra chargeâ. It sounded like a great deal so I happily purchased the contract and after the 1st repair the dishwasher did not drain properly and flooded the kitchen of my condo. I called and Sears came out over the next month 3 more times and each time the dishwasher flooded the kitchen in my condo. I asked the service man if they could just âreplace itâ since was not fixed and he said âyour washer works, OK?â The maintenance manager of the condo building who was called to the flooded kitchen wrote me a letter and since there were damages the condo board will not allow Sears attempt to repair it anymore and said I have to buy a new one. I was also informed that on my next monthly assessment I will be charged a fine for irresponsible overflows. I called Sears and kindly asked to talk to a supervisor and told them that since they will not be allowed in the condo any more would they please: 1. Refund my money since the washer was never fixed. 2. Give me a new one as per agreement. 3. Put the purchase price of the service contract toward a new machine which I was willing to buy from Sears. The supervisor told me in no uncertain terms that âI will get no refund or any other special treatmentâ I asked to talk to that supervisorâs supervisor and they told me that she was busy, would not give me her name but she will call me back. Of course she never called back. Now I am out the money for the contract and I have already purchased a new Maytag for far less money than the old Sears lemon. The old machine is garbage and must be thrown out which is another charge I must pay Maytag. Just to be clear that it was the machine the building engineer wrote me a letter for his service report that he checked all the drains in the building and nothing is clogged. He states that the problem is definitely in the dishwasher. From: Message Author (click here to email author) Date: Thursday, 12-Nov-09 09:09:54 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
