Cricket not honoring rebate fraud

UTSTARCOM UM100C Leap Wireless International (Cricket) 10307 Pacific Center Court San Diego, CA 92121 US www.mycricket.com I got a Cricket phone and a USB modem for their wireless Internet service on January 21, 2009. I sent in all the rebate information as required within a week. First of all, after two or three months they said that the submission was not postmarked after the last acceptable date. So I called them up and they checked into this and said that I did meet those requirements, so please fax them the receipt again. I did that in May, but there was no response from them. So I called them at the beginning of June and said to please fax it again. So I faxed it to them a second time on June 4. They still didn't respond so I called them again on June 29. I talked to a supervisor since I was upset. The supervisor (Laura) told me that since I had cancelled their service back in May, she wouldn't be able to process the rebate for me (the rebate said the only requirement was to have the service for at least 45 days which I had fulfilled). I want my $50 rebate on the modem which I should have received several months ago!!! I am also turning in a complaint to the BBB as well. I am also finding every forum I can possibly find regarding Crickets deceptive practices, and posting my negative review of the company. I am doing this, as I have been ripped off by Cricket. Not only did I not receieve my rebate, but I only receievd 3 weeks of service from my broadband. I PAID FOR A MONTH! Then I receieve a bill for $97 from them. For what? I called, and not one person could connect me to the right person. After two weeks of struggling with this, I simply wrote it off. But be warned...if you deal with Cricket, you will lose. You wont get your rebate either, and your service will flounder. They are cheap for a reason! I provided everything required to get my rebate. It is just a scam. I have waited past the 45 days. I think the Attorney General and the BBB needs to investigate these issues the Crickets rebate pratices. I bought the phone because of the rebate. The day after I bought it I sent in the required information. I have copies of everything. I sent in an e-mail I got the response about the 45 day thing so I waited until the week after the 45 day and sent an inquiry. Guess what the are unable to honor service was not activated in the time frame even though it was. I say we file a consumer class action lawsuit against Cricket. I will be creating a web page and finding a lawyer to take this on.
