limit the seach to the year indicated

if one types in the year for the information they are searching adding information for other years is more than just a waste of time it can ve very misleading. I understand the amounts of info we you have stored but I am not helped by what happened in 2006 when I am specifically requesting info about 2009. For gods sake at least design some protocals for limitations of seach by simple requests such as 2009. Lexis is no google but at least it does what you tell it too. Thank you.
