I am moving out of my AllTel contract area and into an area where Verizon has bought out AllTel. The AllTel customers that were in the area at the time were transferred to Verizon service and freed from their AllTel contract. I called AllTel and informed them of my plan to move and asked for either a local number and local billing or to be released from my contract/transferred to Verizon service. I was told that it was not possible to have a local number but they could mail my bills here, and they would not release me from my contract without the early disconnect fee (EDF). They said it was not possible. I asked to speak to the persons supervisor and he informed me there was no supervisor present but would have one call me back as soon as possible. It has now been 24 hours without a call back.
