Aldi - Accused of stealing in Aldi when returning faulty item for exchange.

I attempted to return a faulty Tevion USB hub and card reader to this store. I was informed that they do not exchange without a receipt. When I pressed the point that this is not the case with consumer law in the uk, the manager said "I don't know where you got it from." I replied that they are the only people that stock Tevion products. She replied "You could have stolen that, or got it from someone who stole it."

I understand how shocking this is to,
I went to to store to see if I could
find a nice meal to cook and had a
stake under my daughters pram which
was off to give to my dog and the
second a girl behind the counter saw it
all the staff came out and everyone was
teling me I stole this item where I
kept replying I haven't, when they
eventually found I hadent stolenn this
item they didn't even apologise very rude
And very ignorant staff who work there
I think they just wanted to get a kick out of
There boring misrable lives by doing

Well you could have so often we have people pick up products of the shelf and try to walk through the till and get a refud ( a computer last week) it is common practice in retail for a recipt to be provided for a refund or exchange. Also you should have retained your recipt for your 3 year warranty ( otherwise as in terms in conditions it is void). I apologise if you were offended however thsi was not unusual practice in the retail industry.
