Repo'ed after 2 late payments?

I have had my Honda Accord since 2005 and had been making monthly payments of $355, once my lease expired I decided to purchase the car since I was enjoying the car and the service I received while a customer there. Recently I was laid off and for the first time in 4 years I made a late payment. The next month, still un-employed, I spoke with Honda Financial and they extended my payment date a week. Now the 3rd month, I call Honda Financial and she says she cant help me. I ask to speak to a manager or supervisor and they cant help me either. The NEXT DAY my car was gone. Thanks Honda Financial for understanding how our economy works. Now they want me to pay in full $6000, the balance since they sold my car (worth approx $25,000) for only $8000. Financial services said they understood, but apparently I didn't understand. Now I have no car, no job, and Honda want their $6000 even though I've paid them over $17000 in the past 3.5 years.
