Mattress Giant Delivery Problems

When we purchased a new mattress from Mattress Giant on July 1, 2009 at the Park & Preston store in Plano, TX, we had specifically informed the sales associate, Jeff, that we were buying the mattress for our master bed room. We requested that upon delivery, the delivery men would move the old mattress in the master bedroom to the upstairs guest room and attach the new frame to the upstairs headboard. Jeff agreed to this and that played a significant factor in our decision to purchase the mattress from this particular store. However, to our dismay, when the three Hispanic delivery men arrived on July 3rd (from Genesis Furniture, or at least that is the name they provided us), they not only refused to move our old mattress upstairs, but also refused to attach the new frame to our head board. As a result, we contacted Jeff right away and he proceeded to inform us that he had not indicated on the paperwork to move the old mattress upstairs or attach the frame to the headboard. He then added that if we wanted we could give some money to the delivery men to complete the work which was promised us. However, Jeff did not realize that we had already tried this tactic unsuccessfully. The driver of the truck refused to do anything and was extremely rude to us. In addition, Jeff had completely changed his tone. He was very accommodating and amicable up until the point we completed the purchase. Needless to say, we will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, informing all our acquaintances of this ridiculous customer service, and refusing to do any further business with Mattress Giant. People should be aware of how customer service in this country has gone down the toilet.
