Dollar Alarm will not cancel my service per contract. They will not give me a cancelation code. How can I get a refund of service already paid if they will not cancel the service. This is not right! Furthermore the name on the invoice I paid is Alarm Services out of Kirkland, Washington. They are using many, many other names and websites to do business. Why should a company need so many other names to do business? I want my service terminated and the year and half that I paid in advance should be refuned. Additionally they were negligent by not cancelling and not even using working phones when I was charged by the police for a false alarm. They should be responsible for their error and pay for that amount. Please help.

More details:

Dollar Alarm cost me $220 plus the monthly fee and hours of time with inadequate tech support. I spent hours on the phone with dollar alarm trying to get my alarm to let me in the house with a delay so the police would not be dispatched when I got home from work. Our village charges $110 per false alarm and the dispatch service that Dollar Alarm uses failed to cancel a false alarm that I call in. I thought I'd save a few bucks a month using this service. Instead I've paid in fines and embarassment. Plus paying for installation would have been worth waiting hours on the phone for them to trouble shoot the system. You get what you pay for is what my village said when I asked them to waive the fees. Yeah $220 plus the monthly fee. Do the math. Dollar alarm sometimes cancels false alarms and sometimes I guess the don't. On our last attempt to cancel the alarm the guy had a poor phone and could not hear me so he put me on hold. Then he never cancelled the call but told me that "Alls clear" after I gave him the password. Ouch! I feel like I was robbed.

Dollar Alarm has refused to discontinue our service so my alarm system has been hi-jacked. The certified letter to Alarm Services was refused and returned. And they will not give us a cancellation code. There contract reads we can cancel at anytime but they won't accept the certified letter or give the cancelation code. Is any of this even legal?

My company had major issues (complaints) with Dollar Alarm too. They also go by "Alarm Services", "Cen Com" and other names. I won't go into the many details, but I will say that it costs us hundreds of dollars to divorce them for products that never worked as promised. I RARELY post complaints. But these guys need to be bypassed when you are looking for alarm monitoring services. I have them many chances to take the high road. They travel the low road. Next week I will post to other complaints sites too.

DollarAlarm.com is an ALARM MONITORING service with over 70,000 Subscribers Nationwide. We were contracted to RESPOND to the Consumers alarm system only and not for any repair or maintenance services. We have NO CONTROL over the quality of the alarm system or its installation from the previous alarm company as we did not install it or provide service on it.

We did exactly as we were supposed to do when we received a alarm from the Consumers premises. Had we NOT proceeded with the 911 dispatch as per the Consumers original instructions, then without a doubt, the complaint would have been that we FAILED TO DISPATCH the Police.

As for a refund for services, the Consumer was provided a refund for unused monitoring services. It just seems that the Consumer has an axe to grind and the "truth" has very little place in his complaint.

His compliant should have been with the company that provided him with the poor quality alarm system that he wanted us to monitor.

As for us refusing to accept his certified letter, the Consumer sent the mail to the wrong address.

I am having the same issue. I paid for a full year in advacne for their service which turned out to be entirely worthless. Their tech support was non-existant and now I'm trying to get a refund.

Now that I see I have been cancelled, they're trying to bill me for $199 for this silly little plastic device which they want me to return. That's fine, but I want my refund!

Terrible compmany to deal with.
