Worst Experience with Dell inspiron 1525
|
IN I bought inspiron 1525 in Feb. 2008, then last month i mean in june 09, its started making problems (just 4 months after the warranty period). the battery charge was down to 13 percent, it wont charge more than 13 percent, then one day it stopped booting, displays "time-of-day clock stopped" and wont move..wot ever i do.. it never mind... i googled and found lot of guys had this problem. then i removed and replaced the coin cell battery which fixed the problem (started to boot again) - i had a very tough time in learning this BIOS reboot and removing and replacing that coin cell battery(have to disassemble the lappy completly). The problem continued, yesterday the primary battery was completly dead (no battery detected/0% battery charge). Now whenever i plug in the power card it automatically starts booting and i have to set the date and time. The nightmare still continues... pls google about the problems with inspiron before you buy. i wont recommend dell to anyone as the customer care / service all are poor. only one service center for the whole india and that is in bangaloore. you wont get a proper response(i had that experience) firs of all you have to spend lot of time in selecting the options one by one (when u make call to the customer service) i selected 5 options. between one option and another you have to wait for some time. atlast when u reach someone they will ask u the service tag no. if you say u wont hav now they wont listen to you and cut the call. I have read multiple complaints on different web sites about this. It is obviously a huge issue and a costly one to the consumer. I really think Dell should recall all these laptops and fix them at no cost to the consumer. I have heard three things. 1) it is a charger issue (I have 2 chargers and don't think both are faulty) 2) It is the motherboard connection site and the fault of the consumer (hogwash as SOOOOO many consumers have this same issue. 3) people should update the BIOS, (I have done this to no avail) Dell own up and recall these or you won't have too many former Dell clients buying anything Dell in the future!
