Well here's yet another Sears Repair Center Service and Products complaint.

Here's the skinny...

Moved into a new house in 2005... decided to buy brand new appliances from Sears... why I still don't know.

but anyway here's the list of appliances... Stainless Steel Kenmore Elite side by side fridge for $1100. Stainless Steel DUAL Fuel GAS/Electric Range for $800.

Kenmore Elite Top Loader King Size Capacity Washer for $500. and a Kenmore front load Electric Dryer for $450.

Within the first year the Fridge would not defrost and get warm... of course during the summer months. Called to make an appointment... told the next available date is in 10 days... insisted someone come out sooner... okay 5 days... only because someone cancelled. Technician comes out for repair... Fridge gets cold again the day before he comes. Looks at the settings... cleans the drip pan and says if it happens again call us. I say shouldn't you take a look at the defroster unit behind the freezer unit?

No... it's okay. Fridge stays cold the rest of the year until the next summer.

Again fridge gets warm in the summer... call Sears Repair Center... get another appointment... 4 days this time.

Tech comes out... one with more experience as I can see. Pushes some button sequences on the control unit... tells me the defroster is not working and begins to rip the freezer apart... finds frost along the entire back of the freezer... melts all the ice... big puddle on kitchen floor... asks for a towel to sop up the water... really?

Replaces a relay unit... puts the fridge back together and calls it a day.

Now for the best experience with the Kenmore Elite Washer. Washer is less than 4 years old... starts leaking water on the floor during a 3-1/2 years child clothes wash cycle. Investigate the issue and find that the plastic outer tub has a crack on the bottom and leaks if any water is in the washer.

Call the great big Sears Repair Center for an appointment... Washer is out of warranty... of course. Representative tells us that it will be $80 something dollars to come and look at it... or you can buy an extended warranty for a year for 216. dollars and all will be included in the repair... okay I say.

I called on June 23... the next available repair date is June 30... 7 days away... I also tell them that the tub has a crack and they should bring another for the repair... give them the model number and serial of the washer and the Rep says okay I'll tell them... who is them? The repair guys she response. Okay I'm a nice guy... I give her a pass. I take a day off from work for my 8 am to 12 pm repair window the tech calls at 11:50 am to tell me he's on his way. Tech arrives at 12:45 pm.

Tells me he did not bring a tub... we need to look before ordring any parts... the rep on the phone couldn't tell me that. Anyway he removes the washer's cover and determines that the tub is indeed cracked and that he'll order one to be delivered to my house... tha next appointment for the washer repair will be on July 10th!!... 10 days away! are you serious! Anyway...take another day off of work on the 10th for another 8 am to 5 pm appointment window... wait all day... no call... call at 4:00 pm to see what's up and the Sears Repair Center tells me that the truck broke down and no technician would be coming... of course I flip out! Now the next repair call is for Tuesday July 14th... we will now spend another weekend at the Laudramat... using our quarters to wash and dry clothes... nice job Sears.

I'm done with them forever... never again will I buy another product from Sears. I suggest you don't either... unless you want to go through this disaster... and believe me you will!
