Microsoft X-Box 360 Extended Warranty Refusal

I attempted to purchase an 2 year extended warranty for my console, when I called the console was within its original warranty period. The associate I spoke with informed me their system was undergoing maintenance and I would have to call back later, I did ask for a call back to purchase the warranty when the system was up and never received one. I forgot to call back until about 3 weeks later and after the original warranty had expired. Warranty expired June 2, 09 called back approximately June 23,09. I was informed that my request for the warranty at an earlier date showed up in their system and I was told they would send in a request for approval, the request was denied.
