Impossible to Cancel Verizon service

Verizon US I called to cancel my non-working Verizon home phone line as well as the DSL. After hours of torture on the phone (including but not limited to: being put on hold constantly, lied to, transferred a million times, then simply hung up on.) I was in tears, and shaking with anxiety over it, till finally two days after the service supposedly started I managed to "cancel" it. Then I was billed a month later. I called to cancel and NO ONE IS EFFING HELPING ME. I get the same bull shit, transferred, hung up on, lied to. I was told their was confirmation, but they are still going to bill my account?! I am getting billed for a service I never had, and there is no end to this in site. I am in hell. Verizon is hell. They are the worst company ever, I am going to need therapy after this. I found a site from 2004 that recommended sending a letter to the CEO, along with the a copy of the complaint I submitted to our state's Attorney General's Consumer Complaint division. I used the advice on this site: http://www.webspawner.com/users/verizonvictims/index.html That CEO address may not be current, so I sent a copy to the CEO here as well: Verizon Communications Corporate Headquarters 140 West Street New York, NY 10007 Good luck! The company deserves a quick bankruptcy and all it officers, slow starvation.
