AT&T is a terrible company to work with. I called them for a quote for an additional business that I was opening. They quoted me a monthly price for service of $140.60. They, also, told me that there would be a ONE-TIME installation fee of $81.00 for all inside jacks and wiring. They knew this was for a business just under construction. I receive my first bill...and neither the monthly rate, nor the one-time installation fee was as quoted. I was charged almost $300 for installation and almost $200 for a monthly charge. I called Customer Service and they told me that I would have to track down the person that I spoke with because they did not have an $81 base install fee. I said "So, you want ME to track down someone that YOU hired to get this fixed?" They said they didn't have anything to do with this person out of Kentucky. Yet, they sub-contracted them. Wonderful. I tried and tried to track this person down. I had their email address because I did have them send me an email quote when I initially talked to them. Anyway, I never was able to reach anyone at the company that At&t hired to sell me their products. They also told me the rate that I was quoted was now different because they did not receive my contract. They refused to take the charges off...even though I had documentation from the original quote. After almost a month of disputing these charges, I finally called and told them to cancel ALL my at&t business accounts. They FINALLY started cooperating a very little bit. They offered to take off 1/2 of the installation charges. I agreed only because I didn't want a non-paid bill on my credit. They also wanted me to sign a contract since my original one didn't make it to them. And, of course, they could take care of that over the phone right then and there. I declined to sign a contract. I am in the process of changing all my business to someone...anyone...other than at&t. If I call customer service, I am on hold for sometimes a 1/2 hour before I finally get to talk to someone in Pakistan who doesn't speak English. I do not have any of these problems with Knology, which I use at home. Unfortunately, their company does not go out as far as my businesses are. But...I'm guessing there is some other company who would like to have my business. I urge everyone not to make the same mistake that I did and move your business to at&t. They talk a good game when they are trying to sell you something. But in the end, they don't deliver.
