Newport News Return Policy

I purchased a dress from this company on 2/2/09 for an upcoming wedding and paid with my Visa check card. When I received the dress, I wasn't happy with the color or fit so I returned the dress vis UPS. Today I realized that I had not seen a refund come through. I called Newport News and was told they received the returned dress on 2/17/09 and that it would take 4-6 weeks for me to receive a credit for the return. The man on the phone said there was no way to speed this up. I have since sent 2 emails and the response is the same. 4-6 weeks for a refund. I paid almost $60 for this dress and in the current economy, 4-6 weeks is really a long time to wait for a refund. I recently retuned an item to Target that I purchased online and received my credit in less than a week! What is going on with Newport News. This really seems to be an unethical business practice!!

I'm having the same problem with newport-news.com. I'm waiting for a credit for the return of a leather jacket that I returned to them in early December. I finally got a customer serivice representative that told me that the time it has taken is unacceptable. Up until now they've just been saying the same thing over and over.."it takes 30 days."

right now i'm going through the EXACT same situation - it is totally appalling! they never ever call me back, their emails are automated & customer service is robotic. after NINE weeks they still have my money, they still have my returned merchandise & i've got poop (except for newly acquired anger management, lol).

ladies beware! unless you know you'll never want to return or exchange an item from newport news, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!

I certainly agree! There is no reason for the return process to take one and a half months. I called today about my refund for a return that they received one month ago. They quoted the policy for returns. Crazy!!
