LG service in the UK unacceptable

LG 42inch plasma US My LG TV broke down in a couple of ways, first vertical and horizontal lines started appearing. After a technicain came to fix it they messed it up even more and now there is no picture at all. After about 2 months of still no TV working they promised to send me a letter letting me get a refund. After one week of the letter not arriving I phoned every day for the next 30 days, everytime they promised the letter was on its way. They now say no they cannot issue me a letter that they promised and they have still not fixed it 3 months after breaking down. The after sales service for LG is absolutely shocking and should not be tolerated. I advise anybody against buying any LG product.
